PHYSICAL AND PHYSIOLOGICAL PROFILES IN A VOLLEYBALL TEAM PROMOTED FROM THE 3rd TO THE 2nd TURKISH MEN’S VOLLEYBALL LEAGUE

Abstract
The aim of this study was to determine selected physical and physiological characteristics of male volleyball players of a team that promoted to the Turkish 2nd Volleyball League from the Turkish 3rd Volleyball League as champions. A total of 12 healthy male volleyball players with a mean age of 23.0 ± 2.0 years participated voluntarily in the study. Participants' age, body weight, height, body mass index, body fat ratio, body fat mass, fat free mass and total body water were determined. Hand grip and leg strengths, vertical jump and flexibility characteristics were measured. Relative strength and anaerobic power were indirectly estimated. Data was evaluated through the SPSS for Windows v13.0 statistics program. The results were interpreted in view of previous study results and test norms concerning volleyball.
