Abstract

The aim of this study was to investigate the relationships between selected physical and motoric characteristics, and technical skills of soccer players. A total of 23 amateur players participated in the study voluntarily. For determining participants’ physical, physiological and technical qualities; body weight and height, body composition indices including BMI and fat free mass, aerobic capacity, anaerobic power, speed, leg strength, vertical jump and flexibility were measured. “Soccer technique” was estimated through testing ball bouncing, dribbling, passing and shooting abilities. To determine correlation coefficients between the obtained data; correlation analysis through the SPSS v16.0 software was performed. Alpha level (α) was set at 0.05. As a result; a moderate positive relationship between the players' vertical jumping and aerobic capacity scores with the “bouncing the ball on the feet” technique was determined.
