Abstract

Abnormal biomechanics and anatomical characteristics are among causative factors for sports injury. Identifying the risk factors and understanding the mechanisms involved with sports injuries, contributes to the biomechanical design of preventive measures. Development of screening tools concerning biomechanical risk factors may be a crucial component in preventing injuries. Screening tools should be simple, low-cost and easy to be used. Thus it will be possible to devise individual preventive training programs that will reduce injury risk for the high-risk athlete. The topic is being reviewed together with pertaining literature.
