Abstract

Elastofibroma dorsi is a soft tissue mass which is rarely considered in the differential diagnosis during physical examination. It can easily be missed during the examination of patients who are admitted to health care facilities with complaint of back and shoulder pain. In this article, a 64 years old lady is presented, whose complaint was a lump at her upper back. She was admitted to the clinic with a swelling on the upper back of her body, which has emerged during exercise three months earlier. In her physical examination a mass at the right inferior scapular region was identified, and which became more prominent with the abduction of the arm. MRI revealed a soft tissue mass. The patient was voluntarily taken under follow-up, with characteristic symptoms and findings for elastofibroma dorsi. Hereby we aimed to remind about elastofibroma dorsi in the light of current literature.
