Abstract
Objective: The aim of this study was to examine COVID-19 phobias of individuals engaged in recreational mountaineering and nature sports according to their gender, marital status, wearing a mask, presence of relatives diagnosed with COVID-19, informing them about COVID-19, and following the news.
Material and Methods: The general survey model was used in the research. The data group consisted of 123 volunteers engaged in recreational mountaineering and nature sports, living in City X, who were selected according to the appropriate sampling method. "COVID-19 Phobia Scale" was used in this study. Data frequency and percentage analysis for descriptive statistics; variance analysis (One-way ANOVA, independent sample t-test) to compare average scores in unrelated measurements; and Tukey test to determine between which groups the significant difference exists, were used.
Results: It was determined that COVID-19 phobias of individuals engaged in recreational mountaineering and nature sports display significant differences according to their gender, marital status, wearing a mask, presence of relatives diagnosed with COVID-19, informing them about COVID-19, and following the news.
Conclusion: It was observed that the stress, fear and anxiety linked with COVID-19 caused various phobias in individuals participating in the study.
