Abstract
Sport is identified as an ensemble of movements that improve the individual’s health status, physical abilities and performance. Sports injuries cover situations resulting from encounters of the whole body or its part with a force greater than normal or beyond the limits of endurance, causing bodily damage. Minor injuries can be treated with rest, medical treatment, taping, kinesio applications, orthoses and exercise protocol suggestions. Medium to severe injuries require clinic rehabilitation. A total of 779 patients who had applied to the GATA Sports Medicine Dept. for clinical rehabilitation were analyzed retrospectively. The type and incidence of injuries requiring rehabilitation of recreational and elite athletes were examined.
