Abstract
This thesis was carried out to assess possible relationships between point efficiency and blood lactate levels during simulated match in 16 members of the Turkish National Taekwondo Team, who were successful in numerous European and World Championships. Following their physical evaluation, athletes performed a taekwondo competition simulation of three rounds. Each round lasted 3 min. Heart rates and capillary blood lactate levels were measured during the 1 min breaks between the rounds, and 5 and 30 min following the end of the competition simulation. As a result, especially blood lactate and heart rate levels were found to have progressively increased. The scores for both parameters correlated significantly between rounds, some correlations were obtained between body weight, body fat ratio and blood lactate levels, but no significant relationship was obtained between points scored and blood lactate levels.
