Abstract

This is a short report concerning doping control operations run and services provided prior to and during the 23rd Universiade 2005 Summer Games in Izmir, Turkey. Definitions pertaining to terminology, management, supervision, stations, equipment, personnel and jobs are given. The extent of the preparative courses and test competitions are presented. The organizational structure, FISU regulations for anti-doping control, the WADA 2005 prohibited list and world anti-doping code, and the list and specifications of the drugs provided in the Medical Centre pharmacy are given as presented in the Medical Services and Doping Control Handbook published for the Games. The anti-doping control sampling scheduling is given. Incentives taken for a possible WADA supervision and topics of concern are discussed, and suggestions for future organizations are finally presented.
